One of the goals when designing the berry patch at Chesed Ranch was simple: extend blueberry season for as long as possible.
While Austin and Brightwell provide the early harvest and Tifblue carries production into summer, Delite was selected to help bring the season to a close. By ripening later than many other rabbiteye varieties, Delite helps ensure fresh blueberries remain available after the earlier cultivars have finished producing.
For a family that enjoys fresh blueberries by the handful, that extra few weeks matters.
Delite may not be the first blueberry of the season, but it has the potential to be one of the last.

Why We Chose Delite
Delite was selected primarily for one reason: extending the harvest season.
A productive berry patch is about more than individual plants—it is about creating a succession of ripening fruit that provides harvests over many weeks rather than a single concentrated window.
Delite complements Austin, Brightwell, and Tifblue by helping fill the later portion of the season while also contributing to overall pollination throughout the planting.
When paired with the other rabbiteye cultivars, Delite helps create a blueberry patch capable of producing fruit for nearly three months.
